Mission Statement
To protect families, especially children and women at risk, promote gender
equality and strengthen communities to improve quality of life and eradicate
poverty with others.
The aim of the Ministry of Women, Social Welfare and Housing is to eradicate
poverty through providing welfare support to the poor, empowerment of women and
gender mainstreaming, coordination of services to the disabled and integration
of programmes to eradicate poverty. The Ministry has four Departments which are
responsible for the delivery of these programes-Departments of Social Welfare,
Department of Women, Department of Housing and Poverty Eradication
Unit.
